BeyondBox is a unique messaging app that allows you to create and send timeless digital boxes to individuals or groups of recipients which will only be released upon your death. • Each box is end-to-end encrypted and only the intended recipient will be able to view its contents once received. • You can upload various media files including messages, images, video, audio as well as documents to each box you choose to leave to a loved one. • Each piece of content that is uploaded or recorded can be scheduled for release for up to ten years following your death. • When the time comes your nominated trustee or next of kin will provide us with your notice of death document. • Once our verification is complete, your created boxes will be activated for release and the recipients will be notified via email that you have left them a box that they can access via the BeyondBox app.Public BoxYou can also leave a final message to the world by creating a Public Box. Here you can let the world know what you lived for, and what work you did while you were here and leave them with your final thoughts and words of wisdom. Your Public Box will be available on the BeyondBox Box Records page and posted to our social media accounts for anyone to view.Our StoryAt its core, BeyondBox is driven by the importance of family and the special connections we make during our limited time on Earth. The idea for creating BeyondBox arose from the tragic events our family experienced, where we lost six loved ones within a span of only three years. After getting married in April 2018, my wife and I, along with our newly blended family, eagerly anticipated the memories we would create together. However, in December of that same year, my mother-in-law’s battle with stage 4 cancer took a turn, marking the beginning of a challenging period for our family. Sadly, she lost her fearlessly fought battle in March 2019, leaving my wife devastated and forcing me to confront the harsh reality of irreversible loss for the first time. In 2019, my wife also lost her grandmother and just when we thought things couldnt get any worse, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and changed the world as we knew it. In January 2021, I lost both of my parents within a month of each other, my wife’s uncle in August, and in January 2022 my father-in-law passed away as well. With each loss, we faced shock, sadness, and numerous administrative tasks. During this time, we found ourselves longing for guidance from our departed loved ones, wishing we had conversations with them that were now impossible. We realized that while death is inevitable for us all, we often shy away from this reality and have difficult conversations with our loved ones to prepare them for this irreversible moment. As a result, we dont express our feelings, share important information, or provide guidance that could ease the burden for our loved ones after were gone. This realization inspired us to create a digital service that addresses this gap in communication that occurs when life ends abruptly. We are proud to offer a platform that we believe will bring comfort, closure, and peace to families in the aftermath of a loss for years to come.
